Exposure the sensor

Correct Exposure

The "correct" exposure for a photograph is determined by the sensitivity of the medium used. For photographic film, sensitivity is referred to as film speed and is measured on a scale published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Faster film requires less exposure and has a higher ISO rating. Exposure is a combination of the length of time and the level of illumination received by the photosensitive material. Exposure time is controlled in a camera by shutter speed and the illumination level by the lens aperture. Slower shutter speeds (exposing the medium for a longer period of time) and greater lens apertures (admitting more light) produce greater exposures.

An approximately correct exposure will be obtained on a sunny day using ISO 100 film, an aperture of f/16 and a shutter speed of 1/100th of a second. This is called the sunny 16 rule: at an aperture of f/16 on a sunny day, a suitable shutter speed will be one over the film speed (or closest equivalent).

Ultimately there is no such thing as "correct exposure", as a scene can be exposed in many ways, depending on the desired effect a photographer wishes to convey.

what is f/16? its for the good exposure on a sunny day

what is metering?metering in measureing the lighting

what would you set shutter speed to take shots at 1/500th? you would have to set it at 1/1000

Determining Exposure

Long exposures can create very interesting photos.
Long exposures can create very interesting photos.

The zone system is another method of determining exposure and development combinations to achieve a greater tonality range over conventional methods by varying the contrast of the 'film' to fit the print contrast capability. Digital cameras can achieve similar results (high dynamic range) by combining several different exposures (varying only the shutter speeds) made in quick succession.

Today, most cameras automatically determine the correct exposure at the time of taking a photograph by using a built-in light meter, or multiple point meters interpreted by a built-in computer, see metering mode.

A Pin Hole Camera

The purpose of a pin hole camera would be how to handle a camera in a different way then a normal camera. Different camera are used different ways, to use a pin hole camera

Materials For A Pin Hole Camera
.Box or Pringel's can
.Photo paper
.Foil
.Black paper
or marker
.Tape
.Black Bag

.And a knife

How To Make A Pin Hole Camera
you empty the can and wash it out so no salt gets on the photo paper. cut the can in half and then put it back together.
You then wrap foil around the camera and tape it so then it stays on the can. Cut out a black circle out of black paper and cover the top of the can if not get a black permanent marker and scribble over the top of the can till its all black make sure there is no light shining through the can lid!! O.O;; or else it wont work!!= not good make sure its light tight! or your pictures are going to look bad then use the bottom on the lid and poke a hole not a big hole but a small hole to where light can get through to it not like "ha ha i stab a hole and its big as Jupiter" but like "oh a mouse made a little hole in my sock for my kittens" then make a shutter or a flap so then you can open and close for a few minutes when your ready to take a picture you use the black bag and you have to use photo paper make sure it doesn't get exposed to the light or your in
Trouble
<(>.<)> Kirby isn't happy!!! if that happens neither will cookie monster but they can live through or you can always get new photo paper if that does happen o=(^-^)=o make sure its light tight when taking a picture make sure your holding it for a few minutes and i mean a few! like 10 to 20 minutes cause the lighting of everything will appear and make the picture look nice when your done go to a dark room and take out the photo paper and let it be sitting in developers liquid for a few minutes till a images shows up and then let it dry in a dark room and then your okay!! =<^-^>= Have Fun Guys! O.o;;

Photography

I hope that we learn all types of settings and touch up. I want to know how to take a good picture with out moving, or making it look a bit shifted at all. I want to know how to change any color to make it a bit more natural. I would like to know how I can take one, picture with diffrent shade's and design to the picture's, but have it still look like the picture it was be for it had diffrent shade's and shape's. I would be glad to know how I can get the right shade, and the right area where I want the light to hit it, and to where the picture does'nt look too dark either.
